Cinemonde Film Screening: “Symphony of the Soil” Tuesday October 15th, 6:30-10:30pm

We are proud to host filmmaker Deborah Koons Garcia for a special screening of SYMPHONY OF THE SOIL, her feature length documentary that explores the complexity and mystery of soil. Filmed on four continents and sharing the voices of some of the world’s most highly esteemed soil scientists, farmers, and activists, the film portrays soil as a protagonist of our planetary story. In a skillful mix of art and science, soil is revealed to be a living organism, the foundation of life on earth. Most people are soil-blind and treat soil “like dirt.” With the knowledge and wisdom revealed in SYMPHONY OF THE SOIL, we come to respect this miraculous substance. Treating the soil right can help solve some of our most pressing environmental problems, including climate change, dead zones, water scarcity and world hunger.

I hope you can make it Tuesday, October 15 (so please mark the date on your busy calendars!) for another memorable soiree at the Roger Smith Hotel, 47th & Lexington in NYC, bringing together people with universal stories and warm hospitality. Our cocktail reception begins at 6:30 pm and our screening program begins promptly at 8:00 pm. After the Q&A with filmmakers, we’ll serve desserts and one-for-the-road drinks.
