Coming this September to the lobby: Selected Works by Cora Jane Glasser

Selected Works
Cora Jane Glasser
On show September 4-October 30
The Lobby at The Roger Smith Hotel

Roger Smith is thrilled to present selected works by Cora Jane Glasser. Included will be works on wood, drawings and prints, all of which will be presented in the lobby of the hotel.

Since childhood, Glasser has been influenced by the architectural structures of New York City; construction and demolition sites have long fascinated her with their iconic language of color, form and energy.  She is interested how these scenes convey tensions between old and new, presence and absence, solid and void. Glasser is heavily inspired by these sites, andher work is based on both fragments of memory and current, fleeting impressions of these vistas.

Cora Jane Glasser was born in Brooklyn, lives in Manhattan and works in Long Island City. She earned a BA/BS in art and anthropology at Queens College and later studied at the Art Students League in New York. Her work has been exhibited in numerous national and international venues and is held in private and corporate collections, including Pfizer, Inc., Acumen Partners, LLC, and the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center.

The Roger Smith is a family run hotel in Midtown Manhattan. For over 20 years the owners and employees have been committed to shaping and growing a diverse and organic cultural footprint both within the hotel and beyond. With a continued desire to converse and engage with guests, with New York and places further afield, The Roger Smith Hotel’s creative program seeks to create big opportunities, pleasurable experiences, inspiring happenings and intelligent dialogues.
